Extending product life

Often, the decision to replace a cable has more to do with the need to expand or upgrade a network, not because the cable itself has deteriorated. We see this as another opportunity for us to support sustainability – by developing solutions that will actually extend the life of today’s wire and cable networks.

Take our JETnet^® concept, developed with Dutch telecom operator KPN, which blows guides and fibre optic cables through existing conduits. This extends the life of existing networks and eliminates the inconvenience and expense of having to dig them up and re-lay them. The system has also been used to install fibre optic cables at CERN’s particle accelerator, in Switzerland.
