Draka Energy & Infrastructure | Australasia focuses on markets in Asia
Pacific, including Singapore, Australia, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, The
Philippines, Myanmar, New Zealand, Thailand and Vietnam. Draka Energy &
Infrastructure | Australasia operates four manufacturing plants that supply most
of the cable products traded in the ASEAN and Australia/New Zealand markets. In
Singapore, the division has two plants. These are operated by Singapore Cables
Manufacturers Pte Ltd and Draka Comteq Singapore Pte Ltd. Malaysia is home to
another plant, operated by Sindutch Cable Manufacturer Sdn Bhd, and the fourth
is in Thailand, operated by MCI-Draka Cable Co Ltd. All four plants are ISO
certified. Adding to our presence in the region is our sales office in
Australia, which trades under the name Draka Cableteq Australia Pty Ltd, plus
representative offices in Indonesia and Vietnam to promote our Draka brand and
build inroads for our products into the local markets.
Standards
With Draka’s cutting-edge technology in the development of materials, products,
production technology and logistics, we develop products to meet our customers
ever-growing needs regarding the environment, safety, flexibility and ease of
installation. These products are also certified to IEC, British Standards,
Australian Standards, TUV/PSB Standards, SIRIM Standards and TIS Standards and
other International standards.
MAX-FOH is one example of Draka’s leading Halogen–free, low-smoke-emission Fire
Performance products that are being used widely in infrastructural development
projects that involve large numbers of people, such as airports, hospitals, mass
rapid transit systems and mega-shopping complexes.
Petrochemical Industry
Another market segment is the petrochemical industry, where our Instrumentation
and control cables are the leading products. Our Alupac Instrumentation Cables
are made to meet the exacting customer‘s need for organic and inorganic chemical
resistance, low weight, a high bending flexibility and protection against water
ingress. Draka’s Instrumentation and Control cables are also widely used in for
data processing and process controls in industry.
Shipboard Cables
We also develop, manufacture and market a full range of shipboard cables for
power, instrumentation and control usage. Our Shipboard cables are the leading
products for use in Anchor Handling Tug & Supply vessels, Ice Breakers,
Container vessels, Catamarans and Fast Ferries, Patrol boats, Tankers and Multi
Purpose Vessels.
Customer Profiles
We continue to fine tune our capacity and ability to meet the growing demand of
the Asian economy. These have provided us with broad-based customer profiles
ranging from conglomerates, local entrepreneurs and contractors to engineering
and procurement companies, oil companies, shipowners, shipbuilders/shipyards and
industrial equipment manufacturers to banks, data processing centres and
telecommunication companies.
Synergy
The worldwide synergy of Draka’s Communications and Energy & Infrastructure
Divisions also provides us with the expertise and resources to develop and
market its products. We leverage the support, strength and resources from other
companies within the Draka organisation to tap into the growing opportunities in
Asia. Products range from sub-sea composite cables, fibres and special data
cables to a full range of Data and Telecommunication products.
In Singapore, we have a Cat 5/6 manufacturing facility to support OEM customers
in the region.
